Okay, so this isn't an actual recipe, but it does have to do with eating. I told my family while we were at Strawberry this weekend for Labor Day, that I should put this on my blog and they all agreed.
When we got there Sunday morning, my brother and his family had a little surprise waiting for us...
CRAWDADS!
It's gotten to be a bit of a tradition with my family to catch they little crawlies and cook 'em up when we camp at Strawberry.
It seems like every time we get some though, I've been pregnant and couldn't handle the idea of eating the little guys after watching the whole process.
This is the guys waiting, not so patiently, for them to cook.
Buckaroo #1 and Buckaroo #2 had a blast playing with them before sending them to their death in the pot. Gotta love boys :)
Leave it to Buckaroo #2 to be excited to try them. His older cousin even got brave and tried to suck one down on a dare. (I'm not talking about eating the tail). He didn't care for it much. I wish I would have snapped a shot of his face after that. It's hard to put into words. Hehe.
His brother was perfectly fine to keep playing with them.
My brother really likes his CRAWDADS and garlic butter.
So, if you've never tried a CRAWDAD before, boil some up and give the little guys a try. They kinda' had the taste and texture of shrimp, but look like a teeny lobster tail. I can now say that I've tried it.

I remember some of my older cousins boiling crawdads a few times. I never tried them though, I was little and thought they were teasing me about actually eating them! Guess I missed out! :)
